Reflecting Motorola’s design philosophy of clean lines and slim silhouettes, Motorola adds another iconic slider form factor with theMOTOROKR™ Z6m. TheMOTOROKR™ Z6m is the ultimate fashion accessory with a musical twist for those socially active, mobile consumers who demand style, fun and adventure. MOTOROKR™ Z6m provides high performance music on-the-go with an integrated music player and comes fully equipped with a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth® wireless technology8 and a dedicated keypad lock. Enjoy up to 2GB of removable microSD™ memory, for all your favorite music and multimedia files in the palm of your hand. Use USB 2.0 high-speed to add to your playlist effortlessly. The bold design and robust feature set make the MOTOROKR™ Z6m more than just another handset; it’s a music lover’s dream.

Price Range: $299.99 - $329.99

The Motorola ROKR Z6m is a thin, narrow slider highlighted with elegant finishes. Crafted of rich housing materials, the ROKR Z6m takes full advantage of the slider form factor and make life easier by accomplishing most anything in both the open and closed positions. Music is a priority for the ROKR Z6m. Featuring an integrated music player, the ROKR Z6m comes equipped with a 3.5 mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, and up to 2 GB removable memory. Additionally, consumers can transfer their digital music collections in seconds via the the USB 2.0 high speed connection.

The Z6m’s display is just like the Rizr Z6tv’s. It measures 2 inches and supports 65,000 colors. Though that’s a step down from the 262,000-color display on the Rizr Z3, such a change is common on CDMA phones. Colors still looked bright and graphics and animations were sharp. You can change the brightness and the backlight time, but not the font size. Alltel doesn’t have its own menu interface; it uses Moto’s date design instead. On the other hand, the Z6m does support Alltel’s nifty Celltop interface. You can read all about it in our review of Alltel’s Samsung SCH-u520.

The MOTORAZR 2 V9m is a technological show-stopper equipped with an astonishing array of features. The stunning evolution of the RAZR™ brand, the RAZR 2 V9m sports a sleek and sophisticated look with the power of 3G CDMA technology. Advanced music and imaging capabilities, USB 2.0 high-speed connectivity, stereo Bluetooth wireless technology8 stereo and GPS technology are just a few of features that consumers are craving, and the RAZR 2 V9m delivers.

Price Range: $419.99 - $449.99

Though thin phones have become ubiquitous, you can’t talk about the trend without mentioning the phone that started it all: the Motorola Razr. Its slim shadow continues to loom over the cell phone world, and Moto continues to capitalize on the design with countless updated models. But it’s only the Razr2 that brings a total makeover to the design. Though it can’t qualify as the world’s thinnest phone (not like it would hold that record long anyway) the V9m is slimmer (4.05×2.08×0.46 inches) than the original Razr V3. Yet more importantly, it just looks a whole lot sexier and more streamlined. The hinge is somewhat more prominent, but the “double chin” bottom that holds the antenna is hammered almost flat. The dark pearl-gray color scheme is a tad boring; we prefer the mahogany hue on AT&T’s Razr2 V9. Yet we liked the V9m’s steel casing and the plate of hardened glass on the front face. Yes, they mean that the V9m weighs more (4.1 ounces) than its predecessor, but the extra heft gives the phone a sturdy feel while simultaneously making it comfortable to hold in the hand.

How can you make a RAZR2 less fun? By slapping the same old interface on it that you’d find on a free phone, that’s how. Verizon Wireless’s RAZR2 is the same gorgeous chunk of metal and glass that you see hawked by the other wireless carriers, with the same excellent voice quality too. But Verizon’s pedestrian menu system manages to take a lot of the wow and pizzazz out of the phone.

One of the more notable features in the Razr2 V9m is the inclusion of a 2-megapixel camera. Along with that camera comes quite a few options, such as brightness, a timer, shutter controls, white balance, color effects (sepia, black and white, and negative), fun frames, and even a multiple-shot option for capturing several frames of the same object quickly. The camera lacks a flash, but there is a 4X zoom that’s not immediately obvious. While the screen doesn’t automatically flip into horizontal mode when you turn the cell phone in this direction, you can manually make this adjustment when in camera mode. You can also easily snap self-portraits when using the camera with the cell phone closed.

As for picture quality, the Razr2 is pretty good at capturing flesh tones and surroundings. Video quality is acceptable as well. Since the Razr2 V9m comes with 65MB of internal memory, you should have no problem saving a plethora of pictures on this cell phone. Additionally, if you want to get the pictures off of the phone, you can opt to print them, then have them sent to your house or pick them up at a store by signing up for a Picture Mail account. One last note: Remember to turn off the camera application when you’re finished, or the external screen will be in viewfinder mode when the cell phone is closed.

Summary of Key Features:

Thin and strong sculpted body with vacuum metalized finish

Large 2.0″ QVGA 65k color external display with touch sensitive music keys

The Motorola W490 is crafted with sleek, compact style and compelling communication features to keep mobile consumers in touch with ease. Offering multiple messaging options, a vibrant color screen, lengthy talk-time, this affordable flip phone is a must-have. Go beyond the flip and experience the freedom to talk wirelessly, and capture moments in a snap.

Price Range: $139.99 - $169.99

Like the W385, the W490 sports a design that’s based loosely on the Motorola Krzr K1. Though it’s not nearly as streamlined as its Krzr cousin–the W490 is boxier with sharper angles–it has the same slender shape with similar dimensions (3.89 inches by 1.89 inches by 0.68 inch). At 3.7 ounces, it’s a bit on the heavy side for a flip phone, but you’re rewarded with a handset that has a sturdy construction and a solid feel in the hand. Our W490 review model came in basic black, but T-Mobile also sells versions in purple and green.

Released for T-Mobile, the Motorola W490’s streamlined and compact exterior borrows inspiration from the iconic slim KRZR design. Convenient to fit in a pocket or in the palm, the smooth and eye-catching flip mechanism is attention-grabbing for savvy and fashion-forward consumers looking for fun and function in their device. Measuring only 17 mm thick, the W490 packs in a large 262K-color display, the Motorola W510 allows you to handle your communication needs with effortless style. Taking and sending images is simple using the integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. With a versatile 8x digital zoom, the W490 captures everything from spontaneous moments to posed shots, and allows users to view, print or share at the touch of a button.

The hip Motorola W490 for T-Mobile an easy-to-use flip phone that offers great style and a little bit more fun for a great price. Thin and sleek, the Motorola W490 makes it simple to slide into any pocket or purse. Inside, the Motorola W490 features myFaves “Fave 5″ dialing software, color screen and built-in MP3 music player. That’s an easy phone to own and love - at a great price!

Simple is good. The ’simple is good’ principle applies to the Motorola W315. It comes with the basics. The W315 looks sophisiticated and yet is simple to use. Get the job done and do it with the style and quality that you expect from Motorola. Choosing a phone has never been easier, and using the W315 is simple, familiar and friendly.

Price Range: $109.99 - 149.99

At 3.48 by 1.96 by 0.98 inches and 4.06 ounces, the Motorola W315 is a bit hefty for such a basic phone. We didn’t see it as a problem, but the dimensions can mean a trade-off for other users. Though the W315 slips easily into a bag, it can be a bit much for smaller pockets when you’re out for a night on the town. A stubby antenna adds more girth, but we’re used to that from a CDMA phone. On the whole, the W315 felt comfortable in the hand but we couldn’t help notice the hinge mechanism was a tad loose. We didn’t have any problems, but it didn’t flip open with a sturdy click. On the other hand, we liked the blue color, the rounded edges, and the rubberized texture on the W315’s exterior.

Offering user-friendly features in a stylish, affordable handset, the Motorola W315 is the perfect mobile for easy, on-the-go communications. With advanced messaging features and ample talk and standby times, the W315 gives you the tools to stay in touch and on track. Combining stylish design with smart functionality, the W315 features a vivid color screen, unique external display and a tactile soft-touch finish - all at a budget-friendly price.

The audio quality of the W315 in calls is good, though; we found that both sent and received voices were clearly reproduced without the overemphasized bass or treble that we see on many phones. And it’s also easy to manage contacts and calls; the included contact manager and call logging features are basic, but easy to use. Our only issue is that you can’t search the contact list for a particular name; you can only type the first letter of the first name, then scroll down the list. this could be a real pain if you have a lot of friends; the E315 can hold up t thousand contacts, but scrolling through that many would be a frustrating exercise.

Tri-Mode Phone

Vibrant, wide color display

Soft touch housing

Enhanced Text Messaging

GPS Enabled/E911

Simple, functional and fashionable - MOTOFONE has the features you need and can count on plus the look you aspire for, at a price that fits your pocket. Billions of people around the world have yet to make a phone call - and billions more have only just begun to explore wireless technology. Technology can be intimidating however MOTOFONE is convenience in voice communication.

Price Range: $45.99 - $79.00

The crux of whether or not the MOTOFONE will appeal to you lies in its feature set — or lack thereof. It’s a GSM-capable mobile phone, which in the Australian market is locked to Optus — and it comes with a prepaid SIM in the box. It’ll do SMS, and you’ve got a choice of some very standard monophonic ring tones. That’s it, however — there’s no Bluetooth, GPRS, camera, GPS, 3G, HSDPA or even simple phone games. If you’re incurably addicted to features like this you’ll find the MOTOFONE vexatious in the extreme. Then again, it’s a phone, and it works. Why pay for stuff you don’t need or use?

In case it hasn’t sunk in yet, the MOTOFONE is just a basic phone, and as a basic phone it works quite well. Call clarity was good in our tests — those of a paranoid bent might like to note that the default call volume is quite loud — and battery life was fairly solid. Motorola rates it for up to 450 minutes talk time and up to 270 hours standby time — largely because when not in use the screen powers down to a simple digital clock display. In our testing, it lasted around three days heavy usage before needing recharging. This brought up one of our lesser concerns about the MOTOFONE, and that’s in the fact that it takes quite a while to recharge. This isn’t a concern if you’re an overnight recharger, but it’s not possible to do a quick recharge and get anything but a perfunctory charge into the MOTOFONE.

Motofone’s design follows the latest fashion trends. Certainly nobody had expected the cheapest phone on the market to be only 9 mm thin and thus being the slimmest Motorola ever. The other two dimensions are 114 x 47 mm. Its weight surprises too - meager 68 g. Despite of looking fragile the phone stands bending pretty successfully thanks to the solid and resistant plastic material used for its covers.

Built on the design of the impressive MOTOKRZR™, the Motorola W385 combines style with simplicity. Blending sleek lines with easy-to-use features, the W385 provides users with everything they want and need without overwhelming technology. With cool colors and an internal antenna, the W385 complements any user perfectly. Offering easy and fashionable communication, the W385 is the complete package for the trendiest of the trendy to the simplest of the simple.

Price Range: $169.99 - $199.99

The similarities between the W385 and the Krzr will be obvious to any cell phone fan. Its dimensions are almost identical (3.9-inches tall by 1.8-inches wide by 0.71-inch thick vs. 4.05-inches tall by 1.73-inches wide by 0.67-inch thick for the Krzr) even if it looks a little more boxy. As 3.8 ounces, the W385 is half an ounce heavier than its predecessor, which gives it a somewhat sturdier feel in the hand. As mentioned earlier, the W385 does not sport the plate of hardened glass found on the Krzr; rather, it’s covered on its front and rear face with black, rubbery material. Yes, the W385 isn’t quite as stylish as its sibling–but we felt more comfortable banging it around.

Released for Verizon Wireless, the Motorola W385 combines style with simplicity, building on the design of the Motorola KRZR. Blending sleek lines with easy-to-use features, the W385 offeres customers Bluetooth Class 2 wireless technology, integrated aGPS location services to quickly get locations, and a VGA camera to capture moments. With cool colors and an internal antenna, the W385 complements any user. Offering easy and fashionable communication, the W385 is trendy and simple.

This incredibly thin smartphone is a head-turner wherever it goes thanks to its sleek, lightweight design. You’ll be amazed at how much functionality is packed into the 0.45 inch thin design. Like a full QWERTY keyboard with backlit keys, 5-way navigation button and a thumbwheel for single-handed control.

The MOTOQ™ keeps pace with your busy lifestyle and work schedule. With customizable settings and a full range of multimedia and productivity capabilities to boost your product. Best of all, the MOTOQ™ brings you a phone experience far superior to any QWERTY smartphone or PDA. Crisp, clear voice capability, advanced speech recognition, and easy-to-use navigation features make it easy for you to stay in peak performance on the go.

Price Range: $399.99 - 419.99

Would there have been so much hype about the Motorola Q if it didn’t rock such a sleek design? Probably not. The Q’s form factor is a huge–if not the main–drawing point of the device. Modeled after the Motorola Razr V3, the Q measures a slim 4.57 by 2.52 by 0.47 inches and is actually thinner than the Razr. It easily slips into a shirt or a pants pocket, and ladies, the Q certainly won’t demand too much space in your purse. The overall construction is solid, and it feels good in the hands, but if you haven’t used this type of convergence device before, you might have to go through a period of adjustment to get used to the extra width, as well as holding it up to your ear as a phone.

The QVGA display is very nice and bright when used indoors. Pretty much anyone who handled the Moto Q praised the screen quality. In direct sunlight, however, the readability comes down by a lot. That’s unfortunate because it’s really sunny in California but to be fair, the smart phone competition isn’t performing any better. Curiously, my Sony Ericsson T610’s display beats them all. Go figure.

The Screen is not a touch screen, which is a little disturbing at first if you’re used to have poke the display with your finger. After a couple of days, I just got used to it, and it became non-issue. During our tests, we found that we used mainly the phone, text messaging and web browsing applications, none of which requires the touch screen.

First Class Email

Multiple inboxes to manage personal and business messages. Enabled for leading email solutions.

Nimble PerformerEfficient Windows Mobile® 5.0 software. Responsively manage email, calendars, contacts and tasks. Stay connected wirelessly with Bluetooth® technology8.

Wickedly Thin and Brilliant0.45 inch profile. Full QWERTY keypad. Five-way navigation key designed for rapid use. Thumbwheel for single-handed scrolling. Simply stellar display.

Robust Multimedia SolutionAll in one. 1.3 megapixel photos. Video and music via Windows Media® Player Mobile. Dual stereo-quality speakers. Store it on removable memory cards which are available in various storage capacities.

Advanced Voice RecognitionMaster voice control without training. Dial a contact by saying a name. Open applications hands-free, using only your voice. Multitask on the move.

For use on CDMA 800/1900 MHz 800 AMPS networks

The Motorola Razr V3m is the successor to the Razr V3c, both of which are exclusive to Verizon Wireless. The most notable improvement is the addition of an integrated music player, a Micro SD card slot, and support for VZ Navigator, Verizon’s GPS navigation service. Otherwise, the Razr V3m looks and feels exactly the same, and it has many of the same features as its sibling. The Razr V3m retails for much cheaper than the V3c–about $119.99 for a two-year contract and $169.99 for a one-year contract–but unless you want an integrated music player on your phone, you shouldn’t feel compelled to upgrade.

Price Range: Price: $249.99 - $339.00

For CDMA users, the updated RAZR from the V3c is this V3m model that added a memory card slot and music player. Features that stayed were EV-DO high-speed data, Bluetooth, and a megapixel camera with video capture, dual color displays, speakerphone, and speaker-independent voice dialing. Enjoy the RAZR V3m in fire red.

There’s a reason the Motorola Razr seems to top everyone’s must-get list. You might think it’s because it’s sooooo thin and commands “Ooooohhhh’s” and “Aaaahhhh’s” whenever it’s pulled out of a bag or a pocket. Yes, that’s a big reason why, but it’s also actually a pretty good cell phone. Although, this version lacks the world-roaming capability found in the Motorola Razr V3, it does have something the V3 doesn’t: a higher-quality 1.3-megapixel camera and the ability to record videos (the Motorola Razr V3 sports a lower-quality VGA camera and can’t record videos).

What can we say about the Motorola Razr’s ground-breaking design that hasn’t already been said: it’s uber-thin, slick looking and comes in a rainbow of colors. Even though, the cell phone is insanely thin, it’s incredibly usable and surprisingly durable. We’ve dropped the Motorola Razr many times on a variety of surfaces (carpet, wood floors, desks, sidewalks) and it has yet to show any battle scars.

Perhaps one of our favorite elements is the ultra-bright, colorful screen. It definitely stands out when it’s opened and is highly visible in most lighting situations. In fact, occasionally we’ve even used it as a flashlight for guidance through dark rooms. Our only quibble with the cell phone’s design is the screen easily attracts face grease. That said, many cell phones suffer from this flaw.
