The VGA-resolution camera is a definite highlight of the Motorola V360, especially now that pictures can be uploaded directly to your computer. The camera includes three resolutions (640×480, 320×240, and 160×120), six lighting settings, a 4X zoom, and five shutter tones. After taking your shots, you can send them in a message, apply them as wallpaper or a screensaver, and move them to a PC via the TransFlash card. The phone will hold roughly 100 pictures, but once again, that uses shared memory and assumes no other data on the handset. We are disappointed that the V360 does not have a flash, as even the Night setting did not work as well as a flash would. You can also take videos with sound, at a resolution of 176×144, and for a maximum of 30 seconds. Since the V360 is a VGA camera, photo quality was nothing special, and videos were choppy and pixelated.Flipping the V360 open, the keypad greets you with a bright blue backlight. I personally found the keypad layout to be a little too high up. The top row of buttons, the left and right soft keys, and the menu key are just too close to the hinge. It made these buttons feel a little out of reach. The Web and Camera buttons, and also the call and end keys, flank the d-pad below the menu key. The end key also functions as the power button. Generally, I found the keypad to be a little too stiff for my liking. However, it had good tactile response, and I had no trouble with missed key presses.
Straying from the rounded blue coating of the V300 and V330, the V360 has a more aggressive two-toned conservative look. Prior problems from peeling rubber were eliminated with the introduction of a silver edging on the V360. Measuring 90 x 47 x 24 mm, and weighing 111 g, the V360’s body is similar in shape and size to the V300 and V330, and on par with most wireless devices on the market, but replacing the external antenna with an internal one, improves the mobility considerably.
