The phone also comes with the now necessary camera that really is quite the standard when it comes to modern mobile phone technology. The camera comes fully equipped with VGA resolution, self-timer options, and a 4X digital zoom, which is really excellent for a camera that is mainly located on a mobile phone’s body.

Features include a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, basic PIM functions, a 500-contact phone book, a speakerphone, instant messaging, voice commands, a wireless Web browser, polyphonic ring tones, and a VGA camera. The Motorola V300’s features are similar to those found on the higher-end V600. Frequent talkers will appreciate the 1,000-entry phone book, and there’s room for an additional 250 names on the SIM card. The handset also comes with an alarm clock, a voice recorder, a calculator, a date book, text and multimedia messaging (MMS), AOL instant messaging, two Java (J2ME) games (Stuntman and Bejeweled), and WAP 2.0 wireless Web access via T-Mobile’s high-speed GPRS network. One quibble: You can’t turn on the speakerphone until you place a call.
The Motorola V300 is a decently featured mid-range camera phone. It comes with the benefit of voice dialling, an integrated handsfree speaker and a picture phonebook. However, what lets the V300 down badly is its very high weight (123g), low memory and unreliable software - read the user comments below for a flavour of these.
The original case color is blue, the plastic is velvety by touch and reminds SonyEricsson Z200. In general, these device are very similar to each other by target group, design and even material of case (for Z200 such color is name Velvet Blue). V300’s side faces are silver and the aerial is of grey color. Such color combination looks good and varies phone’s appearance. The presence of the aerial doesn’t seem entirely justified, modern clamshells receive built-in aerials. On the other hand, there will be only several models with built-in aerial on the market when this phone is released, so external aerial couldn’t be considered as a serious lack.

Price Range: $49.99 - $79.99
The external monochrome display shows the time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID (where available). Although its rectangular shape makes it a bit small, it’s still relatively easy to see in low light. Unfortunately, the internal display isn’t much better. It supports 65,000 colors, but the 1.5-inch-diagonal screen is neither bright nor vivid; plus, it is tiny, so don’t expect to enjoy too much multimedia with it. It is, nonetheless, sufficient for navigating the phone’s user-friendly menu systems, but it should be noted that you can’t change the font size.
Released for T-Mobile, the Motorola V188 offers the mass market a chic choice for mobile connectivity inside a customizable clamshell design. Motorola remains connected to the mass market with the debut of feature-rich handsets at a compelling price. The V188 features MP3 ringtones, downloadable games, AOL Instant Messenger, a color screen, and much more making it the preferred choice for the fashion-forward, value-conscious consumer. With great design and advanced features, the V188 is a tremendous value for consumers.
